Gynodioecy in Cirsium palustre (Asteraceae)

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce bylo provést literární rešerši zaměřenou na poměr pohlaví a reprodukční strategii gynodioecického druhu Cirsium palustre a dále provést terénní průzkum frekvence samic v populacích tohoto druhu v oblasti Libereckého kraje. Ve studované oblasti bylo analyzováno 46 populací, v nichž byla kromě frekvence samic zjišťována také nadmořská výška, hustota jedinců v populaci a míra napadení parazity. Analýza neprokázala statisticky významný rozdíl v míře napadení hermafroditních a samičích rostlin. Frekvence samic v populacích se pohybovala od 0 do 57,6 % se střední hodnotou – mediánem – rovným 16 %. Tento výsledek se shodoval s frekvencemi zjištěnými v rámci tohoto druhu v geograficky a altitudinálně odlišném souboru populací. Korelaci frekvence samic v populacích s mírou napadení parazity, s nadmořskou výškou ani s hustotou populace se nepodařilo statisticky prokázat.

Abstract:

The goal of bachelor thesis was to accomplish a literary research focused on sex-ratio and reproductive strategy of gynodioecious species Cirsium palustre. The analysis of female frequencies in the populations was carried out in the area of Liberecký kraj. In this area frequency of females, population density, and an extent of infestation by parasites was determined at 46 populations of Cirsium palustre. The hypothesis that hermaphrodites are more likely to be infested by parasites than female plants was not statistically confirmed. The frequency of females in populations varied from 0 to 57.6 % with median value 16 %. This result is consistent with the frequencies of females detected previously in geographically and attitudinally distinct population dataset of this species. The correlation of female frequency in populations with altitude, with population density, and with intensity of parasite infestation was not statistically confirmed.
