Punk from the Perspective of Graphic Design

Abstract:

Pro svou bakalářskou práci jsem si zvolil téma grafické stránky undergroundového hudebního žánru punk. V teoretické části práce se zprvu globálně zabývám samotným zrodem, přičemž přecházím k užšímu prostředí bývalého Československa, kde se zaměřuji zejména na vzniklý vizuální materiál. Vzhledem ke grafické analýze této subkultury dále popisuji podrobně motivy, náměty a techniky výtvarné tvorby, které jsou propojeny s aplikací na jednotlivých médiích. Předposlední kapitola pojímá obrazový průzkum punku na území Rožnovska, které se jeví v rámci této subkultury jako určitý fenomén. Obsah získaný tímto sběrem informací jsem aplikoval v praktické části této práce, jež představuje autorskou knihou.

Abstract:

For my bachelor thesis, I chose the topic of graphic visuals in the realm of underground music genre punk. In the theoretical part of this thesis, I first deal globally with the origin itself, moving on to the narrower environment of the former Czechoslovakia, where I focus mainly on the visual material produced. Given the graphic analysis of this subculture, I then describe in detail the motifs, themes and techniques of the artwork, which are linked to the application on the individual media. The last but one chapter features a pictorial exploration of punk on the territory of the Rožnov region, which appears as a certain phenomenon within this subculture. I have applied the content obtained through this information gathering in the practical part of this thesis, which is the author's book.
