Ensuring security in the buildings of the main railway station in Brno

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zpracována na téma vnímání bezpečnosti v lokalitě hlavního nádraží v Brně a přednádražního prostoru v ulicích Benešova a Nádražní. Práce postupně představuje pojmy bezpečnost, kriminalita, strach ze zločinu, přestupek a trestný čin. Za pomocí policejních statistik a polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s představiteli policejních složek a pracovníků ostrahy identifikuje nejčastější přestupky a trestné činy, kterých se pachatelé dopouštějí v dané lokalitě, a jejich počet za poslední tři roky. Zabývá se všeobecně zažitým dojmem z lokality, který přetrvává jak u cestujících, tak u občanů města Brna. Interpretace subjektivních názorů vychází z výsledků dotazníku zacíleného na osoby, které denně nebo velmi často lokalitou procházejí. Závěr představuje shrnutí získaných poznatků a vizi budoucího řešení nejen bezpečnosti nádraží, ale též zajištění moderní technologie a potřebné kapacity.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is elaborated on the topic of the perception of safety in the area of the main railway station in Brno and the area in front of the station in Benešova and Nádražní streets. The thesis gradually introduces the concepts of security, crime, fear of crime, misdemeanor and crime. With the help of police statistics and semi-structured interviews with representatives of police forces and security guards, it identifies the most common offenses and crimes committed by offenders in a given locality and their number over the past three years. It also deals with the generally ingrained impression of the locality, which has persisted for at least several decades among both passengers and citizens of the city of Brno. The interpretation of subjective opinions is based on the results of a questionnaire aimed at people who pass through the locality on a daily or very frequent basis. The conclusion presents a summary of the acquired knowledge and a vision of the future solution not only of the safety of the station, but also of ensuring modern technology and the necessary capacity.
