Prestige of the teaching profession on the elementary school in Vranov nad Dyjí seen in a view of teachers, pupils and parents

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá prestiží učitelského povolání. Tím, zda je v současné době prestiž tohoto povolání vysoká nebo naopak nízká. Teoretická část obecně popisuje pojmy prestiž, sociální status, autoritu a pomáhající profesi, ke které se řadí i učitelské povolání. Další kapitola se týká historie výzkumu prestiže povolání a jeho cílů. Teoretická část se také věnuje jednotlivým elementům, které mohou ovlivňovat prestiž učitelské profese. Praktická část má formu dotazníkového šetření, které bylo uskutečněno u žáků a jejich rodičů na Základní škole ve Vranově nad Dyjí a formu strukturovaných rozhovorů, které byly vedeny s učiteli, kteří na této škole působí. Cílem výzkumu bylo zjistit, co si učitelé, žáci 2. stupně a jejich rodiče myslí o prestiži učitelského povolání a z rozhovorů a dotazníků vyvodit, jaká je prestiž tohoto povolání na dané ZŠ.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the prestige of the teaching profession. Whether is the prestige of this profession currently high or low. The theoretical part describes generally the concepts like prestige, social status, authority and supporting profession, which the teaching profession also includes. Next part relates to the history of research of prestige this profession and its goals. The theoretical part also deals with individual elements that may affect the prestige of the teaching profession. The practical part is divided into two parts. The first part was in the form of a questionnaire survey which was given to the students and their parents at the elementary school in Vranov nad Dyjí. The other one was in the form of structured interviews that were led with teachers who work at this school. The aim of this research was to find out what teachers, students and their parents think about the prestige of the teaching profession. Next goal was to infer the level of prestige of the teaching profession at this elementary school from interviews and questionnaires.
