Trends in Tourism in Relation to the Development of Photography Industry and Experience Sharing

Abstract:

Ačkoli organizovaný cestovní ruch a fotografie vznikly přibližně ve stejné době, trvalo sto let, než se sblížily natolik, aby se mohly navzájem ovlivňovat. V roce 1839 Jacques Daguerre vynalezl daguerrotypii. Ještě téhož roku použil John Herschel pro nový způsob statického zachycování a zobrazování skutečnosti poprvé termín fotografie a v roce 1841 Thomas Cook zahájil podnikání v oboru, kterému se dnes říká cestovní ruch. Ideální podmínky pro rozšíření amatérské fotografie a cestovního ruchu však nastaly až po druhé světové válce, kdy automobilky a letecké společnosti investovaly „válečné” zisky do rozvoje svých produktů a zakrátko udělaly z automobilismu a letecké dopravy masovou záležitost. Také výrobci fotoaparátů už měli k dispozici dost patentů a technologií optiky, aby mohli reagovat na základní potřeby turistů a později přinášet zcela nové technologie a s nimi i nové příležitosti k trávení volného času fotografováním. V dnešní době obě odvětví - cestovní ruch a fotografie - k sobě patří a v reálném životě si je lze jen těžko představit jedno bez druhého. Fotografie je nezastupitelným komunikačním nosičem ve sdílení lidských zážitků z navštívených míst. Cestování je pak ideální cestou, jak tyto zážitky najít, a proto dnes dokáže ovlivňovat poptávku po fotoaparátech. Vzájemná součinnost těchto odvětví zkrátka násobí popularitu a urychluje rozvoj cestování i fotografie.

Abstract:

Although the beginnings of photography and the organised traveling occurred at almost the same time, it took a century to make them coexist and share the mutual influence. Jacques Daguerre invented daguerreotypy in 1839 and John Hershel used for the new way of recording and visualising reality the name photography for the first time. And in 1841 Thomas Cook started to operate in the field we nowadays call the traveling business Ideal conditions for the spreading of both amateur photography and amateur traveling didn't come until the 1950s. Car manufacturers and airline companies invested their "war revenue" in the innovations of their products and soon changed the cars and travelling into something for the masses. Producers of photo cameras found themselves in similar position. They had at their disposal enough inventions, technologies and optics to react to the basic needs of amateur travellers and later on to bring the brand new technologies and the new possibilities for spending the leisure time as well. Travelling and photography are the siblings nowadays and it’s almost impossible to imagine one without the other. While photography is an irreplaceable pillar in sharing of human experience with places visited, traveling is a perfect way to find these experiences, therefore today can even affect the demand for the cameras. Synergies between these sectors simply multiplies their popularity and accelerate the development of tourism as well as photography industry.
