Crohn's disease in childhood

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou Crohnovy choroby v dětském věku a její dietní terapií. V první kapitole teoretické části je uvedena definice Crohnovy choroby a její specifika v dětském věku. Druhá kapitola popisuje epidemiologickou situaci Crohno-vy choroby v dětském věku. Ve třetí až sedmé kapitole je podrobněji rozebrána etio-logie a patogeneze, klinický obraz, průběh a prognóza, diagnostika a způsoby terapie Crohnovy choroby. Osmá kapitola se pak zabývá výživou dětí a specifiky výživy při Crohnově chorobě. V kapitole jsou vysvětleny základní složky potravy, způsob stano-vení nutričních potřeb a hodnocení stavu růstu a výživy u dětí. Kapitola dále obsahuje nejčastější nedostatky výživy u dětí s Crohnovou chorobou a výživová doporučení pro tyto děti včetně podrobněji popsané dietní terapie. Poslední kapitola pojednává o emočních a psychosociálních problémech spojených s tímto onemocněním. V praktické části jsou prezentovány 3 kazuistiky zpracované dle procesu nutrič-ní péče, kde byla identifikována nutriční rizika pediatrických pacientů a navržena intervence k jejich řešení.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of Crohn's disease in childhood and its die-tary therapy. The first chapter of the theoretical part of the thesis presents the definition of Crohn’s disease and its specifics at a younger age. The second chapter describes an epidemiological situation of Crohn’s disease in childhood. In the following four chap-ters, there is discussed in more detail etiology and pathogenesis, clinical picture, course of the disease and prognosis, diagnosis, and last but not least methods of therapy of Crohn's disease. The eighth chapter is about the nutrition of children and specifics of nutrition in Crohn's disease. In this chapter, there are explained basic components of food, the method of determining nutritional needs, and evaluation of the state of growth and nutrition in children. The chapter also contains the most common nutritional deficiencies in children with Crohn's disease and nutritional recommendations for these children, including diet therapy described in more detail. The last chapter deals with emotional and psychosocial problems associated with this disease. The practical part presents 3 case studies prepared according to the process of nutritional care, where the nutritional risks of pediatric patients were identified and interventions to address them were proposed.
