The Social Pedagogical Benefit of J. H. Pestalozzi's Life

Abstract:

Vědecká práce se zaměřuje na sociálně pedagogické působení J. H. Pestalozziho. V textu jsou uvedeny projekty, které splňovaly praktické využití jeho novátorských myšlenek, v návaznosti na literární tvorbu čerpající právě z osobních zkušeností. S postupem času lze z J. H. Pestalozziho činnosti vyčíst konfrontaci s nepříliš nakloněným osudem, což lze nalézt ze změny postoje k Bohu, který byl edukátorovou inspirací a oporou. V pozdějších letech shledal víru v sebe sama. Chronologicky je viditelné, jak svým životním přístupem také pozvolna mění pracovní cíle ze sociálně pedagogických na elementárně pedagogické. Už za svého života získal mnoho následovatelů a učenců. Odkaz na celoživotní dílo lze nalézt i dnes, a to v celosvětovém měřítku. Na teoretickou část navazuje empirická část, rozdělená do dvou částí. Počínaje kvantitativně metodologickým výzkumem zabývajícím se povědomím obyvatel a jejich postojem k charitě. Druhou částí je analýza textu Pestalozziho stěžejního díla Linhart a Gertruda a jeho spojitost se sociální pedagogikou jakožto odkazem pro společnost. Výsledkem práce je závěr, který hodnotí stávající situaci a snaží se nalézt adekvátní řešení pro zlepšení ve zkoumané oblasti.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on social pedagogical work of J. H. Pestalozzi. The text mentions the projects which met the practical usage of his new ideas in connection to the literary works drawn from personal experience. As the time went by, the activities of J. H. Pestalozzi were confronted with rather unfavourable destiny, which can be derived from the change of approach to God who was the inspiration and help to the educator. Later, he found belief in himself. From the chronological point of view, it can be seen that he gradually changed his career goals from social pedagogical to elementary pedagogical by changing his approach to life. He gained many followers and scholars during his life. The reference to his life-work can be also found today, all around the world. The theoretical part is followed by the empirical part which is divided into two parts. The first part covers quantitative methodological research which focused on the awareness of people and their attitude towards charity. The second part covers the analysis of the major work Leonard and Gertrude by J. H. Pestalozzi and its connection to social pedagogy as a heritage for the society. The result of the thesis is a conclusion evaluating the current situation and trying to find an adequate solution for improvement in the examined field.
