Intercompany comparisons based on the financial statements

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá porovnáním finanční situace vybraných firem v rámci stavebního odvětví. Porovnání firem probíhá na základě dat zjištěných finanční analýzou účetních výkazů. Ve finanční analýze jsou využity absolutní, rozdílové a poměrové ukazatele, bankrotní a bonitní modely a soustavy ukazatelů. Cílem diplomové práce je posoudit finanční situaci vybraných firem, provést srovnání těchto firem za pomoci příslušných metod a na základě zjištěných údajů zmapovat situaci v daném odvětví. Za účelem lepšího porozumění danému odvětví je provedena i analýza odvětví za pomoci statistických dat. Hypotézy, které má tato práce potvrdit, či vyvrátit jsou: Stavebnictví jako odvětví se nachází v poklesu. Vývojové tendence firem korespondují s vývojem stavebního odvětví.

Abstract:

This master thesis aims to provide a financial status comparison of companies within the construction industry. The core of the comparison is based on analyzing data taken from the financial statements and the financial analysis uses absolute, differential and ratio indicators, bankruptcy and credibility models and system indicators. The main objectives of this thesis are to assess the financial situation of the selected companies, to make a comparison of these companies by using aforementioned methods and to map the situation in the sector with the gained knowledge. For a better understanding of the industry there is also carried out the analysis using statistical data. Hypotheses that are going to be confirmed or disproved are: Construction as an industry is in decline. Trends in companies’ behavior correspond with the development of the construction industry as a whole.
