Diverse concepts of social work from the perspective of transgender people

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je najít odpověď na hlavní výzkumnou otázku: Jaká pojetí sociální práce se objevují v naracích transgender osob a jak tato pojetí ovlivňují jejich pohled na sociální práci. Diplomová práce, nazvaná Různorodá pojetí sociální práce perspektivou transgender osob, je zaměřená na transgender tématiku, přiblížení komunity sociálním pracovníkům a všem, kteří se o tuto problematiku zajímají a chtějí si utřídit informace či se dozvědět něco nového. Komunita transgender lidí je v České republice minorita, to ale neznamená, že by se jí mělo opomíjet. Diplomová práce je prací výzkumnou. Teoretická část práce představuje transgender komunitu jako celek, vysvětluje základní pojmy a ukotvuje identitu v kritické sociální práci a antiopresivních přístupech. Výzkumná část bude zaměřena na kvalitativní výzkum, jehož technikou je rozhovor. V rámci této části práce proběhlo 6 polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s transgender osobami. Tyto rozhovory byly inspirovány narativním interview, při němž bylo sledováno propojení sociální práce s transgender komunitou, stejně jako osobité zážitky transgender jedinců s tranzicí. Výstupem diplomové práce je shrnutí výsledků a následná diskuse.

Abstract:

The aim of the diploma thesis is to find an answer to the main research question: What concepts of social work appear in the narratives of transgender people and how these concepts affect their view of social work.The diploma thesis entitled Diverse Concepts of Social Work from the Perspective of Transgender People is focused on transgender issues, bringing the community closer to social workers and all those who are interested in this issue and want to gatherinformation or learn something new. The community of transgender people is a minority in the Czech Republic, but this does not mean that it should be neglected. Diploma thesis is a research work. The theoretical part of the work presents the transgender community as a whole, explains the basic concepts and strengthens gender identity in critical social work and antiopressive approaches. The research part will focus on qualitative research, the technique of which is an interview. Within this part of the work there will be 4 semi-structured interviews with transgender people. These interviews were inspired by a narrative interview, which looked at the connection between social work and the transgender community, as well as the specific experiences of transgender individuals with transition. The output of the diploma thesis is a summary of the final results and a subsequent discussion.
