The implicit theory of emotional intelligence

Abstract:

Téma bakalářské práce se věnuje tématu implicitních teorií emoční inteligence. Teoretická část práce je věnována několika blokům, které souvisí s následným výzkumem. Teorie směřuje od samostatného rozvrstvení emocí k sociálnímu zaměření práce a poté navazuje na emoční inteligenci, která se váže k implicitním teoriím. Teoretická část slouží jako podklad k části praktické. Hlavním cílem praktické časti je identifikovat rozdíly ve vnímání emoční inteligence mezi muži a ženami - zjistit, zda se obsah pojmu emoční inteligence váže na pohlaví. Primární nulovou hypotézou této práce je, že mezi implicitními teoriemi emočně inteligentních mužů a žen vyjádřenými pomocí dotazníku TIR-ITI nejsou statisticky významné rozdíly. Alternativní hypotézu lze brát v úvahu v případě, že mezi implicitními teoriemi emočně inteligentních mužů a žen vyjádřenými pomocí dotazníku TIR-ITI jsou statisticky významné rozdíly. Se zaměřením na cíl práce je užita kvantitativní metoda, konkrétně dotazníkový nástroj TIR-ITI. Vyhodnocení výzkumné práce je provedeno na základě F-testu a t-testu, kde i přes některé identifikované rozdíly ve vnímání emoční inteligence mezi muži a ženami, se následně statisticky potvrzuje stanovená nulová hypotéza.

Abstract:

The topic of the bachelor thesis is the implicit theories of emotional intelligence. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to several blocks related to the subsequent research. The theory moves from the independent stratification of emotions to the social focus of the thesis and then follows on emotional intelligence, which relates to implicit theories. The theoretical part serves as a background to the practical part. The main aim of the practical part is to identify differences in the perception of emotional intelligence between men and women - to see if the content of the concept of emotional intelligence is related to gender. The primary null hypothesis of this thesis is that there are no statistically significant differences between the implicit theories of emotional intelligence of men and women as expressed by the TIR-ITI questionnaire. The alternative hypothesis can be considered if there are statistically significant differences between the implicit theories of emotionally intelligent males and females expressed using the TIR-ITI questionnaire. With a focus on the aim of the thesis, a quantitative method is used, specifically the TIR-ITI questionnaire. The evaluation of the research work is carried out based on F-test and t-test, where despite some identified differences in the perception of emotional intelligence between men and women, the established null hypothesis is subsequently statistically confirmed.
