Magnetorecepce zvířat a citlivost některých biochemických reakcí na magnetické pole Země není zatím objasněným fenoménem. Je známo, že citlivost k magnetickému poli Země je pravděpodobně postavena na reakcích aktivovaných světlem, kdy vznikají radikálové páry schopné s tímto polem interagovat.
