Czech medieval secular song from the musical, historical and interpretative aspects

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá středověkou písní z hudebně historického a interpretačního hlediska s důrazem na světskou píseň a duchovní lyriku, zvláště na její vokální interpretaci. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí. V první části je shrnuto dosavadní bádání v této oblasti v teoretické rovině a shrnut vývoj písňové tvorby trubadúrů, truvérů a minnesängrů a jeho zasazení do historického kontextu. Druhá část shrnuje vývoj vokálních technik a praktických poznatků pro interpretaci na podkladech dobových hudebních učebnic vydaných v Čechách a na dílech současných autorů věnujících se interpretaci středověké hudby. Dále se věnuje příkladům v přístupu k interpretaci tohoto tématu renomovanými českými i světovými muzikology a interprety. Závěr patří shrnutí poznatků ze všech teoretických i praktických zdrojů pro praktické využití současným hudebníkem.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with medieval songs from a music-historical and performance point of view, with an accent on the secular song and sacred lyrics, especially on its vocal interpretation. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part summarizes the existing research in this field on a theoretical level and reviews the evolution of the song production of troubadours, trumpeters, and minnesingers, and puts it in a historical context. The second part summarizes the evolution of vocal techniques and practical knowledge for performance on the basis of contemporary music textbooks published in the Czech Republic and the works of contemporary authors devoted to the performance of medieval music. It also discusses examples in the approach to the interpretation of this topic by renowned Czech and international musicologists and performers. It concludes with a summary of findings from all theoretical and practical sources for practical use by contemporary musicians.
