The current business environment of Republic of Korea and the possibilities of expanding cooperation with the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce je zaměřena na analýzu současného podnikatelského prostředí Korejské republiky. Hlavním cílem je poskytnout českým subjektům zvažujícím expanzi na korejský trh přehled o současném podnikatelském prostředí, jeho specifikách a odvětvích, ve kterých je prostor pro uplatnění českých firem. Práce je rozdělena do tří kapitol. První se zabývá rešerší dostupné literatury o způsobech hodnocení makroekonomických vlivů a hodnocení celkové konkurenceschopnosti. Druhá část je zaměřena na samotnou makroekonomickou analýzu nástrojem PESTLE a její vyhodnocení maticí SWOT. V analýze jsou mimo dostupných statistik zahrnuty také žebříčky konkurenceschopnosti a hodnocení předních ratingových agentur. Poslední kapitola pojednává o vývoji zahraničního obchodu mezi Korejskou republikou a Evropskou unií, se zaměřením na Českou republiku. V rámci obchodních vztahů jsou představeny české agentury pro podporu exportu a perspektivní odvětví pro uplatnění českého zboží a služeb. Ve třetí kapitole jsou také sepsána doporučení českým podnikům při obchodních jednáních, na základě rozhovorů se třemi podnikateli s bohatými zkušenostmi s podnikáním v Korejské republice.

Abstract:

This master thesis is focused on the current business environment of the Republic of Korea. The main objective is to provide Czech entities, which are considering expansion to the Korean market, with an overview of the current business environment, its specifics and perspective sectors for the Czech companies. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first contains literature review concerning macroeconomic influences and overall competitiveness of enterprises and countries. The second chapter is focused on the macroeconomic analysis itself using PESTLE analysis and the SWOT matrix. In addition to the available statistics, the analysis also includes competitiveness rankings and assessments published by main rating agencies. The last chapter focuses on the development of foreign trade between the Republic of Korea and the European Union, with orientation on the Czech Republic. Included is the introduction of Czech export support agencies and their activities and promising industries for the application of Czech goods and services. The third chapter also contains recommendations to Czech companies concerning business negotiations, based on interviews with three entrepreneurs with extensive experience in doing business in the Republic of Korea.
