Intercultural communication in relation to the problem of German taboo words from the field National Socialism and their translation

Abstract:

This thesis deals in its theoretical part with intercultural communication, various forms of mixing cultures and the definition of culture in general. It describes the complications that can happend in contact with different cultures. The thesis also explores the phenomenon on of taboo. It also includes the origin of the term, relation to intercultural communication and to other linguistic disciplines. The practical part describes the linguistic aspects of National Socialism in Germany and analyzed words, whose meaning was changed for propaganda purposes.

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se ve své teoretické části zabývá interkulturní komunikací, různými formami míšení kultur jakož i definicí kultury obecně. Popisuje komplikace, které mohou nastat při kontaktu příslušníků odlišných kultur. Práce se dále věnuje fenoménu tabu. Je zde zahrnut původ tohoto pojmu, souvislost s interkulturní komunikací a vztah tabu k lingvistickým disciplínám. V praktické části práce jsou popsány jazykové aspekty nacionálního socialismu v Německu a analyzována slova, jejichž význam byl k propagandistickým účelům změněn.
