Tendencies and Specificities of Contemporary Digital Literature

Abstract:

Diplomová práce si klade za cíl postihnout tendence a specifika digitální literatury prostřednictvím metareflexe teoretických přístupů zaměřených na problematiku vztahu literatury a jejího propojení s novými médii. Ukotvena časovým rámcem 90. let 20. století po současnost konfrontuje diachronní hledisko remediace se synchronními pojetími nejvýznamnějších českých a slovenských teoretiků: Karlem Pioreckým, Zuzanou Husárovou a Bogumiłou Suwarou. Z jejich koncepcí vychází zamýšlená komparace možných hledisek nazírání na problematiku, jež prezentuje rozdílnost přístupů v aktuálním bádání a přináší kritické zhodnocení současné pozice digitální literatury a jejích možných vývojových tendencí. Práce tematizuje paradigmatickou proměnu uměleckého diskurzu ve druhé polovině 20. století, v níž se etablují nová média, která zapříčiňují selhávání tradiční literární komunikace ve vztahu mezi vysilatelem a příjemcem, a z nichž vyvstává nutnost nalézt adekvátní metody analýzy a interpretace digitálního textu.

Abstract:

The aim of this diploma thesis is to cover tendencies and specificities of digital literature through metareflections of theoretical approaches focusing on the issues of the relationships of literature and its connection to new media. The thesis focuses on the time period from 1990s to the present day and confronts a diachronic viewpoint of remediation with synchronic approaches of the most important Czech and Slovak theoreticians – Karel Piorecký, Zuzana Husárová and Bogumiła Suwara. Their conceptions serve as a basis of comparation of possible points of view that deal with this issue, which presents the plurality of approaches in contemporary research and brings a critical evaluation of today’s position of digital literature and its possible evolution tendencies. This thesis also focuses on the paradigmatic change of the artistic discourse in the second half of the twentieth century, which was important for establishing new media that are causing the collapse of traditional literary communication in the sense of the relationship between the speaker and the addressee and from which results the necessity of finding adequate methods of analysis and interpretation of digital texts.
