Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je zachytit legendu o věčném Židovi v moderní filozofii, literatuře a výtvarném umění. Naším záměrem nebylo provést vyčerpávající výčet autorů a děl, ale zamyslet se, kde a v jaké podobě se dnešní čtenář, student, zájemce o umění může setkat s touto postavou, jak se původní vyprávění proměnilo v čase a u jednotlivých autorů a také, jakým způsobem k nám dnes touto legendou promlouvají archetypální prvky v ní obsažené (např. samota, osud, cesta, věčné bloudění, vydědění, smíření, přijetí). Soustředíme se na otázku, která z těchto témat jsou pro člověka dnešní doby akcentována a která naopak opomenuta. V prvních kapitolách shrnujeme vyprávění o věčném poutníkovi v Bibli, připomínáme na jeho pojetí ve Starém i v Novém Zákoně a zastavujeme se pak ještě v 17. století, kdy se pak legenda znovu objevuje. V úvodní části práce také charakterizujeme samotnou postavu věčného Žida Ahasvera. Další oddíly práce jsou již věnovány jednotlivým autorům, v jejichž díle jsme zaznamenali vliv tohoto vyprávění nebo jeho inspiraci. Stěžejní část naší práce je věnována filozofům Nietzschemu a Kierkegaardovi, od nichž vede přímá spojnice k absurdnímu dramatu (Sartre, Beckett) a dále pak navazujeme Franzem Kafkou a Karlem Čapkem. Z výtvarného umění se věnujeme dílům moderních autorů Františku Hudečkovi a Ivanu Bukovskému. Závěr práce shrnuje, v jakých místech a podobách je postava věčného Žida přítomna v současné době, jakou vzdálenost k ní si volíme a která ze základních lidských témat nám i dnes připomíná.

Abstract:

The aim hereof is capturing a story about The Wandering Jew in the modern philosophy, literature and plastic arts. The objective has not been to provide an exhausting list of authors and works but think about where and in what form the current reader, student or person interested in arts can meet this figure, how the original story has changed in time and as to different authors and also in what manner the original mutual elements contained therein give the reflection to us through the story referred herein (e.g. loneliness, destiny, way, endless wandering, out-casting, reconciliation and acceptance). The author focuses on an issue stressed from the foregoing topics for a human being these days as well as those having been omitted. The introductory chapters summarize the story about the perpetual pilgrim in the Bible, its meaning in The Old Testament and the New Testament, and a short section is devoted to the 17th century yet when the legend appears again. The introductory part of the work also characterizes the figure of The Wandering Jew ? Ahasver. Other parts of the work are already devoted to different authors in the works of which an influence of the story or inspiration thereby is reflected. The anchoring part of the work deals with philosophers such as Nietzsche and Kierkegaard from whom a direct link to an absurd drama is laid down (Sartre, Beckett) and having further been developed by Franz Kafka and Karel Čapek. As to the plastic art, the author devotes her attention to works of modern artists, i.e. František Hudeček and Ivan Bukovský. The conclusion hereof summarizes in what places and forms the figure of The Wandering Jew is present these days, what is a distance we deal with and which of the fundamental human issues are reminded thereby.
