Initial vegetation of grassy fields in the Moravian Karst

Abstract:

Kvůli ochraně jeskynních systémů v CHKO Moravský kras došlo v roce 2019 k zatravnění orné půdy v okolí jeskyní a závrtů v I. a II. ochranné zóně. Zatravnění polí v Moravském krasu s sebou nese několik dopadů na zemědělství i ochranu přírody této oblasti. V bakalářské práci se zabývám vývojem vegetace v druhém roce po zatravnění. Vegetace byla monitorována pomocí fytocenologických snímků na šesti lokalitách. Na většině stanovišť dominovaly pícní trávy a bobovité, což odpovídalo použitým travním směsím. Významný podíl měly v porostech lokální druhy, které nebyly součástí osivové směsi. Z plevelů měly větší zastoupení vytrvalé druhy jako Cirsium arvense nebo Elymus repens. Nejvíce druhů bylo zjištěno na pozemku, kde byla vyseta druhově bohatá regionální směs. Naopak nejméně druhů na pozemku osetém vojtěškotravní směsí. Vysoká pokryvnost vytrvalé vegetace je významná z hlediska snížení průsaků vody půdou i protierozní ochrany.

Abstract:

In order to protect the cave systems in the Moravian Karst Protected Landscape Area, the arable land around the caves and sinkholes was grassed over in the I. and II. protection zones in 2019. The grass sowing on arable land has several impacts on agriculture and nature conservation in the area of the Moravian Karst. In the bachelor thesis, I am focusing on the vegetation succession in first years after sowing grassland seeds. The vegetation was monitored using phytosociological plots at six localities. Fodder grasses and Fabaceae were dominant in vegetation, which corresponds to the grass mixtures used. Local species that were not a part of the seed mixtures had a significant proportion in vegetation as well. Perennial species such as Cirsium arvense or Elymus repens were commonly found among weeds. Most species were found on land where a species-rich regional mixture was sown. On the contrary, the lowest species numbers were found on land with alfalfa seed mixture. The high cover of perennial vegetation found in the whole study area is important in terms of reducing water seepage through the soil and erosion protection.
