Idea of evolution, concept of development and representation of subjectivity

Abstract:

Tato práce stojí na pojetí antropologie Paula Rabinowa. V tomto přístupu, texty které jsou produkované během antropologických zkoumání, mohou sloužit jako specifický druh etnografického materiálu. Tyto texty považované za asambláže určité historie praxe, mohou interpretovány zasazením do širšího kontextu rozpravy, která je zrodila. Po té se vynoří jako unikátní, historicky, společensky a geograficky specifické zprávy o Západní kultuře. Idea Evoluce zde reprezentuje podstatnou změnu, která se odehrála v průběhu Novověku a zahrnovala takové věci jako reformaci, zámořské cesty, přírodní vědy a setkání z jinakostí, která bylo nutné intepretovat. Koncept individuálního vývoje reprezentuje jinou část této změny. Tento koncept je spojen se zvláštní formou moci nazývanou pastýřská moc nebo biomoc, a společenskými technologiemi jako psychiatrie, které jsou integrálními technikami této moci. Idea Evoluce a koncept individuálního vývoje se pak setkávají v možnosti uchopit lidstvo jako nadané kognitivními schopnostmi vytvářet rozdílné kultury.

Abstract:

This thesis stand on the Paul Rabinow’s notion of epistemology. In this approach, text produced during anthropological inquiry could be treated as kind of ethnographic material. This texts treated as assemblages of the certain history of practice, could be re/interpreted by putting to the environment of discourse, which coined them. After they emerge as unique, historically, socially and geographically specific accounts of Western culture. Idea of Evolution represents here a substantial change in thinking taking place during New Age, involving such things like reformation, overseas voyages, natural sciences, and encountering otherness, which need to be interpreted. Concept of individual development represents other part of same change. This concept is connected to special form of power called pastoral power or biopower and social technologies like psychiatry, which are integral techniques of this power. Idea of Evolution and concept of individual development of them meet in possibility to conceptualize mankind with imbued cognitive abilities to create different culture.
