Inland water transport in the conditions of the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá vnitrozemskou vodní dopravou a aspekty, se kterými je její realizace korelovaná. Data o přepravních objemech a výkonech tohoto dopravního oboru naznačují, že jeho využívání klesá, a zároveň představují pouze zlomek oproti silniční nebo železniční dopravě. Hlavním cílem práce je zjistit, na jakých faktorech je využívání vnitrozemské vodní dopravy v podmínkách České republiky nejvíce závislé. Ke splnění tohoto cíle je využita korelační analýza, kde je výsledná intenzita korelace interpretována prostřednictvím korelačního koeficientu. Bylo zjištěno, že množství přepravních výkonů ve vnitrozemské vodní dopravě je negativně korelováno s množstvím přepravních výkonů v silniční dopravě. Tato závislost je zároveň statisticky významná, a tak lze konstatovat, že ze statistického hlediska je na našem území využívání vodní dopravy nejvíce závislé na využívání silniční dopravy.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis focuses on inland water transport and on the aspects with which its realization is correlated. Data of the transport volumes and transport performance of this transport sector indicates that its use have been decreasing and at the same time it represents only a fraction compared to road or rail transport. The main aim of the thesis is to find out on which factors the use of inland water transport is most dependent in the conditions of the Czech Republic. To achieve that, correlation analysis is used, where the result of the intensity of the correlation is interpreted by the correlation coefficient. It was found that the amount of transport performance of inland water transport is negatively correlated with the amount of transport performance in road transport. At the same time, this dependence is statistically significant. It can be stated, from a statistical point of view, that the use of inland water transport is the most dependent on the use of road transport in the Czech Republic.
