Employees' Satisfaction and Preferences in Comparison to Managerial Style

Abstract:

Předkládaná diplomová práce má za cíl zodpovědět otázku, jak ovlivňuje řídící styl nadřízeného spokojenost a preference zaměstnanců. Zajímá nás, zda zaměstnanci vedení pod různým stylem řízení preferují odlišné charakteristiky přímého nadřízeného a zda se v závislosti na řídícím stylu mění také míra spokojenosti těchto zaměstnanců s řídícím pracovníkem či s prací celkově. Zvolena byla kvantitativní výzkumná strategii, hlavní technikou sběru dat byly strukturované dotazníky. Pomocí statistické analýzy dat byly zpracovány poznatky, které potvrzují, že řídící styl, kterým jsou zaměstnanci vedeni, skutečně ovlivňuje jak preference, tak i spokojenost těchto zaměstnanců. Tyto odlišnosti v preferencích i spokojenosti jsou popsány a porovnány mezi jednotlivými řídícími styly.

Abstract:

The presented thesis is focused on the comparison of various managerial styles applied by managers and contentment of employees. The task is to answer a question whether and how are contentment and preferences of employees influenced by the managerial style. We are interested whether employees managed in different managerial styles prefer different characteristics of their supervisors and whether the satisfactory level of these employees is influenced by the managerial style. For this task I chose quantitative investigation strategy using structured questionnaire as the most important instrument. Collected data and their statistical analysis prove, that both preferences and contentment of the employees are influenced by the managerial style of the supervisor under which they work. These diversity in preferences and contentment is described and compared between the particular managerial styles.
