Issues of geographic catalogues of the Czech Office for Surveying, Mapping and Cadastre.

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou vznikajícího názvoslovného seznamu Jména Evropy, který zpracovává Názvoslovná komise Českého úřadu zeměměřičského a katastrálního. V práci je postupně analyzován proces tohoto vzniku a následný návrh pro optimalizaci sběru geografických objektů v rámci vymezených geografických kategorií. Návrh obsahuje stanovení pravidel, podmínek, vhodných zdrojů pro výběr objektů, následné vyhodnocení výsledků a navržení jejich možné kartografické vizualizace. Přínosem práce je poukázaní na problém a možnost jeho řešení s ohledem na důležitost evidovat významná endonyma území mimo Českou republiku za účelem zvýšení o jich podvědomí.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the issue of new geographic catalog of the Names of Europe, which is processed by the Commission on Geographical Names of the Czech Office for Surveying, Mapping and Cadastre. The study analyzes the process of this creation and the subsequent proposal for optimizing the collection of geographical objects within the defined geographical categories. The work proposal includes the determination of rules, conditions, suitable resources for the selection of objects, the subsequent evaluation of the results and the design of their possible cartographic visualization. The contribution of this work is mainly to point out the problem and the possibility of its solution with regard to the importance of registering significant endonyms of the territory outside the Czech Republic in order to increase their subconsciousness.
