Multi-sample granular synthesis and its output

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je nejen důkladné teoretické zavedení a následná praktická realizace specifického a dosud jen krajně prozkoumaného probému v rámci granulárního způsobu zvukové syntézy - granulace s použitím více rozdílných vstupních samplů (zvukových souborů) - za účelem jejich kombinace v novou zvukovou barvu, ale taktéž detailnější shrnutí granulárního přístupu ve zvukové tvorbě. Práce se zaměřuje jak na obecnou problematiku zvukových mikrostruktur, historii jejich využití a na výstup kreativní práce s nimi, tak na následnou praktickou aplikaci těchto poznatků na vícesamplový vstup.Součástí práce je analýza výstupu vícesamplové granulace s přihlédnutím k jejímu kreativnímu využití.

Abstract:

The main goal of this thesis is not only a thorough theoretical introduction and subsequent practical implementation of a specific and so far only hardly described phenomenon in the scope of granular sound synthesis - granulation using multiple different input samples (sound files) for the purpose of their combination into a new sound colour, but also a more detailed summary of granular approach in sound production. This thesis focuses not only on general problematics of sound microstructures, history of their use and the output of creative work with them, but also on the subsequent practical application of this knowledge on a multi-sample input.Part of the thesis consists of an analysis of the output of multi-sample granulation, with an focus on its creative implementation.
