Organisation and structure of public administration in the Bohemian lands during the last years of the Austro-Hungarian Empire

Abstract:

Tématem této práce je organizace a struktura veřejné správy v českých zemích v posledních letech existence Rakousko-Uherska. Zaměříme se na její strukturu, význam a způsob jejího fungování. Veřejnou správu rozdělíme na státní správu a samosprávu, zohledníme vertikální i horizontální strukturu. Nejpodrobněji se budeme věnovat podobě veřejné správy ve 20. století, tedy po třetí reformě. Velký prostor věnuje práce i fungování veřejné správy v době 1. světové války. Posledním tématem, jež práce postihuje, je boj českých politiků za samostatný stát.

Abstract:

This work deals with the topic of the organization and structure of public administration in the Bohemian lands during the last years of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. It will explore its structure, significance, and how it worked. We will divide public administration up into state administration and local government, taking account of vertical and horizontal structure. We will discuss public administration in the 20th century, i.e. after the third reform, in the most detail. The work and function of public administration during World War One will also be covered in depth. The final topic described here is the Czech politicians’ struggle for an autonomous state.
