Possibility of medical use of different adhesivity of biomaterials

Abstract:

Biomaterials are widely used in medicine, most often as replacements for damaged tissue and organs. The success of the acceptance of a biomaterial by the body depends on the physical and chemical properties of its surface, and on the ability of cells to adhere to artificially created surfaces. This work is focused on the description of structural and signal molecules enabling the adhesion of cells to each other and to the surface. At the same time, it focuses on the characterization of chemical and physical properties and the treatment of surfaces that promote better adhesion of cells.

Abstract:

Biomateriály majú v oblasti medicíny široké využitie, najčastejšie ako náhrady poškodených tkanív a orgánov. Úspešnosť prijatia biomateriálu organizmom závisí na fyzikálnych a chemických vlastnostiach jeho povrchu a zároveň na schopnosti buniek adherovať na umelo vytvorené povrchy. Táto práca je zameraná na popis štruktúrnych a signálnych molekúl umožňujúcich adhéziu buniek medzi sebou a k povrchu. Zároveň sa sústredí na charakterizáciu chemických a fyzikálnych vlastností a úpravy povrchov podporujúcich lepšiu adhéziu buniek.
