Downstream changes in the surface grain size of bars along the Spojená Bečva River

Abstract:

The river bars of the Bečva River which flows from Valašské Meziříčí into the Morava River are observed in this diploma thesis. From listed bars on the Bečva River 17 were chosen to explore changes of grain size and sorting along the river. Grid count, photo-granulometry represented by software Sedimetrics Digital Gravelometer and volumetric sampling were methods used for gaining data. There was found a strong interdependence in comparing photo-granulometry and grid count for percentiles D50, D84 a D95, while percentile D16 didn’t show a significant interdependence. Furthermore, this thesis studies impact of many anthropogenic objects which are considered as disconnectivities on the Bečva River. These objects cause disturbance of fining along the river. That is why sorting and grain size did not show typical improving trend of sorting and decreasing of grain size along the river. Partial outputs of this thesis were changes of grain size within bars – grain size was mainly influenced by spring floods from 2017. There was evidence of fining from barhead to bartail only on four bars. With the increasing height above the bed, the grain size of percentile D50 decreased, while percentile D95 increased. Grain size and sorting have significantly changed on bars Hustopeče n/B, Lhotka n/B and Týn n/B since 2015. In comparison to 2015 the armoring was developed only at one bar in 2017. The biggest influences on changes of grain size on the Bečva River bars have the anthropogenic objects and floods.

Abstract:

V rámci tejto diplomovej práce boli pozorované lavice na rieke Bečve od Valašského Meziříčí až po jej sútok s Moravou. Zo zaznamenaných lavíc na Bečve bolo vybraných 17, na ktorých bol skúmaný poprúdový trend zrnitosti a vytriedenia. Použitými metódami pri získavaní dát boli grid count, fotogranulometria reprezentovaná softwarom Sedimetrics Digital Gravelometer a objemové vzorkovanie. Porovnaním fotogranulometrie a grid countu bola vyjadrená silná vzájomná závislosť pri percentiloch D50, D84 a D95, pričom percentil D16 nevykazoval veľkú mieru závislosti. Práca si všímala vplyv mnohých antropogénnych prvkov, ktoré pôsobili na Bečve ako diskonektivity. Práve tie na rieke spôsobili, že predpokladané zjemňovanie po prúde bolo narušené. Vytriedenie i zrnitosť nemali preto typický poprúdový trend zlepšovania stupňa vytriedenia a zmenšovania zrna. Čiastkovými výstupmi práce boli zmeny zrnitosti v rámci lavíc, kde sa na zrnitosti výraznejšie podpísal vplyv povodne z jari 2017. Od čela po koniec bolo prítomné zjemňovanie len na štyroch laviciach. So zväčšujúcou sa výškou nad dnom sa hodnota D50 zmenšovala, percentil D95 sa ale zväčšoval. Vychádzajúc z dát z roku 2015 sa za dva roky na laviciach Hustopeče n/B, Lhotka n/B a Týn n/B výrazne zmenila zrnitosť a vytriedenie. Na rozdiel od roku 2015 bol stupeň armoringu v roku 2017 výrazne vyvinutý len na jednej lavici. Najväčší vplyv na zmeny zrnitosti lavíc Bečvy majú antropogénne prvky a povodňové situácie.
