The Czech Republic Pension System in Comparison with the UK Pension System

Abstract:

Hlavním tématem diplomové práce je komparace důchodových systémů České republiky a Velké Británie. Práce popisuje historické, kulturní, sociální a ekonomické parametry obou porovnávaných soustav. Dále se zaměřuje na probíhající reformy obou systémů a na zásadní vlivy, které je mohou významným způsobem v budoucnosti ovlivnit. Jedná se zejména o negativní demografický vývoj, migrační politiku a státní důchodovou politiku. Práce analyzuje způsob a formu financování jednotlivých důchodových pilířů, historii a vývoj obou důchodových systémů, s důrazem na porovnání pozitivních a negativních stránek důchodové politiky. Součástí komparace jsou nejaktuálnější změny ve vývoji penzijních schémat. V neposlední řadě jsou prezentovány tabulky a grafy, které dokumentují poměry obou zemí v oblasti sociálního a důchodového pojištění.

Abstract:

The subject of this thesis is a comparison of the pension systems of the Czech Republic and Great Britain. It describes the historical, cultural, social and economic parameters of both of the systems, and further focuses on the ongoing reforms taking place and the principle influences which can effect them considerably in the future. These include negative demographic trends, immigration policies and the respective national pension policies. The thesis analyses the methods and forms of financing the separate pension pillars and the history and evolution of both pension systems, with emphasis placed on comparing both the positive and negative aspects of both pensions policies. A part of this comparison comprises the most recent changes in the development of the pension schemes. Lastly, but not least, this thesis includes tables and graphs which document the relationships between both countries in the field of social and pension insurance.
