Equal opportunities of women and men on the labour market

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou rovných příležitostí žen a mužů na trhu práce. Jejím cílem je zmapovat stávající právní úpravu a institucionální zabezpečení rovných příležitostí žen a mužů na trhu práce a následně zhodnotit, do jaké míry jsou tato opatření úspěšně zavedena do praxe v prostředí České republiky. K dosažení tohoto cíle slouží autorce analýza statistických dat týkajících se míry zaměstnanosti, využívání kratší pracovní doby, rozdílů v odměňování a zastoupení obou pohlaví v řídících pozicích. Práce rovněž obsahuje komparaci stávající situace na trhu práce v členských státech Evropské unie a výběr judikátů Soudního dvora Evropské unie týkajících se této problematiky.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of equal opportunities of women and men on the labour market. Its aim is to map existing legislation and institutional ensuring of equal opportunities of women and men on the labour market and to subsequently evaluate to what extent these measures are successfully put into practice in the Czech Republic. The author of this bachelor thesis used statistical data concerning an employment rate, use of shorter working hours, gender pay gap and gender representation in higher management positions to achieve the goal of this thesis. This work also includes comparison of the current situation of labour markets in member states of the European Union and selection of the case-law of the Court of Justice of the European Union concerning the issue of equal treatment on the labour market.
