Crisis Intervention in Children with CAN Syndrome from the Viewpoint of an Interdisciplinary Team of Experts

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá specifiky dětské krizové intervence u syndromu CAN za hospitalizace. Kapitoly se zaměřují na diagnostické postupy v případě podezření na týrání, zanedbávání a zneužívání, popisují klinický obraz jednotlivých forem CAN a působení psychického traumatu na dítě. Podrobněji se zaobírají systémem péče po přijetí na lůžkové oddělení dětské kliniky, významem spolupráce intervenčního týmu a hlavními principy komunikace s dětskou obětí. S ohledem na plánování následné péče a ochranu dítěte před dalším násilím poukazuje z multidisciplinárního hlediska na dilemata při řešení situace dítěte, naznačuje příčiny rodinné vztahové patologie. Cílem je poukázat na vzájemnou informovanost, dynamiku změn, rozdělení rolí při řešení syndromu CAN a porozumění individuálně prožívaným problémům aktérů interdisciplinárního týmu.

Abstract:

This Diploma Thesis deals with crisis intervention in children with CAN syndrome, while they are in hospital. The chapters focus on diagnostic methods in cases where there is suspicion of bullying, neglect or abuse. It describes a clinical picture of individual types of CAN and the psychological trauma it causes children. This work focuses on the details of systems of care for children who stay in the lounge department in the children?s clinic, it explains the sense of how the intervention team functions together, and shows the main principles of communication with child victims. Regarding plans for follow-up care and protecting children from further violence, we refer to the multidisciplinary team for their viewpoints on solving the dilemmas of this situation with the children. The work also indicates the root of the problem i.e. the effects that bad family relationships have had on the children. The aim is to indicate a mutual awareness, show the dynamic changes, divide certain roles in order to solve the CAN syndrome and to understand individual problems the interdisciplinary team sees in practice.
