The main advantages and risks of outsourcing in the selected company

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem práce je identifikovat a vyhodnotit výhody a rizika, plynoucí z využití služeb outsourcincgu logistiky ve vybraných firmách. První část práce je zpracována metodou literární rešerše a obsahuje teoretické poznatky ve vztahu k problematice outsourcingu logistiky, jeho výhodám a nedostatkům, trendům v dané oblasti. Praktická část práce je zaměřena na analýzu dotazníkového šetření, provedeného s cílem ověřit platnost vymezených teoretických předpokladů v praxi českých firem, působících v segmentu e-commerce. Firmy jsou rozděleny podle toho, zda využívají outsourcing logistiky nebo ne. Následně jsou odpovědí manažerů těchto firem navzájem porovnávány. Výsledky slouží k vymezení případných rozdílů nebo prokázání absence rozdílů v podnikání a výkonu firem, které outsourcing využívají a nevyužívají. Statistické metody jsou použity pro účely testování výzkumných hypotéz. Analýza dospěla k závěru, že firmy, využívající outsourcing, vykazují méně problémů v oblasti skladování a správy zásob, než firmy, které outsourcing nevyužívají. Na konci práce jsou uvedeny doporučení pro outsourcing logistiky v segmentu e-commerce, výběr vhodných kritérií při posouzení poskytovatelů outsourcingových služeb.

Abstract:

The main goal of the work is to identify and evaluate the benefits and risks resulting from the use of logistics outsourcing services in selected companies. The first part of the thesis is processed by the method of literary research and contains theoretical knowledge in relation to the issue of logistics outsourcing, its advantages and disadvantages, trends in the given area. The practical part of the work is focused on the analysis of a questionnaire survey, carried out with the aim of verifying the validity of defined theoretical assumptions in the practice of Czech companies operating in the e-commerce segment. Companies are divided according to whether they use logistics outsourcing or not. Subsequently, the answers of the managers of these companies are compared with each other. The results are used to define possible differences or demonstrate the absence of differences in the business and performance of companies that use and do not use outsourcing. Statistical methods are used for the purpose of testing research hypotheses. The analysis concluded that firms using outsourcing show fewer problems in the area of warehousing and inventory management than firms that do not use outsourcing. At the end of the work, recommendations for logistics outsourcing in the e-commerce segment, selection of suitable criteria for assessing outsourcing service providers are presented.
