Life stories of seniors from the senior club and their journey through active aging

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá životními příběhy seniorů navštěvujících klub seniorů a jejich cestám aktivním stárnutím. K tématu je přistupováno z pohledu prožívání stárnutí, strategiemi zvládání změn a vlivu sociální participace na kvalitu života ve stáří. Teoretická část představuje problematiku postavení seniorů ve společnosti a jejich aktivizace, zejména v konceptu aktivního stárnutí, sociální integrace a role klubů seniorů v podpoře participace. Výzkumná část je věnována narativům dvou seniorek z klubu seniorů, které se zabývají výzvami a strategiemi zvládání stárnutí přispívajících k resilienci, formami sociální participace k udržení kvality života a motivací k aktivitám v kontextu aktivního stárnutí, a to s využitím čtyř interpretačních perspektiv narativní analýzy.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the life stories of seniors attending senior clubs and their journeys through active aging. The topic is approached from the perspective of the experience of aging, strategies for coping with change, and the impact of social participation on quality of life in old age. The theoretical part presents the issue of the position of seniors in society and their activation, especially in the concept of active aging, social integration, and the role of senior clubs in supporting participation. The research part is devoted to the narratives of two senior women from a senior club, addressing the challenges and strategies of coping with aging that contribute to resilience, forms of social participation to maintain quality of life, and motivation for activities in the context of active aging, using four interpretive perspectives of narrative analysis.
