Mistakes of pronunciation of Czech native speakers

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis „Mistakes of pronunciation of Czech native speakers” deals with typical errors in the pronunciation of the German language by Czech native speakers, as on the segmental as on the suprasegmental level. It also aims to describe the correct articulation of German sounds problematic for Czech native speakers. Typical errors of Czech native speakers mainly stem from differences in muscle tension of the phonation system and the related strong accent, which alternates with reduction of unstressed syllables. For Czech native speakers, in addition to this, the pronunciation of German vocalic phonemes is problematic mainly due to the different sizes of jaw angle, labialisation and length, articulation of consonantic phonemes then mainly for the necessity of stress and aspiration. Therefore, a Czech native speaker is able to articulate securely only the sounds he knows, although the listed phenomena have very often distinctive functions in the German language. Part of the bachelor work is a phonetic transkription with an analysis of a number of recordings of Czech native speakers of a German text as a practic example of the theoretical knowledge.

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce „Aussprachefehler tschechischer Muttersprachler“ ze zabývá typickými chybami ve výslovnosti německého jazyka u českých rodilých mluvčích, a to jak v rovině segmentální tak suprasegmentální. Zaměřuje se rovněž na popis správné artikulace pro českého rodilého mluvčího problematických německých hlásek. Charakteristické chyby českých rodilých mluvčích vyplývají především z rozdílné svalové napjatosti artikulačního ústrojí a s tím souvisejícím silným přízvukem, který se střídá s redukcí nepřízvučných slabik. Výslovnost německých vokalických fonémů je pro české rodilé mluvčí navíc problematická především vzhledem k různé velikosti čelistního úhlu, labializace a délce, artikulace konsonantických fonémů pak především pro napjatost a aspiraci. Český rodilý mluvčí proto vysloví s jistotou pouze hlásky, které zná, ačkoliv vyjmenované jevy mají v němčině velmi často distinktivní funkci. Pro praktickou demonstraci teoretických poznatků je součástí bakalářské práce fonetický přepis s analýzou několika nahrávek německého textu českými rodilými mluvčími.
