Gender and Feminity in Alois Jirásek´s Early Works

Abstract:

Práce s názvem Gender a feminita v rané tvorbě Aloise Jiráska se zabývá genderovou interpretací vybraných děl z oblasti Jiráskovy rané novelistiky. Za pomoci genderových teorií a analýzy soudobých statí vystihuje reflexi genderové problematiky Jiráskových děl zachycené v dobovém literárním diskurzu 19. století. Z následné interpretace raných próz Aloise Jiráska vyplývá, jakým způsobem autor utvářel genderové motivy ve svých dílech a jakým způsobem zobrazil diferenci mezi feminitou a maskulinitou. Cílem práce je analýza a interpretace genderových motivů v rané novelistické tvorbě Aloise Jiráska včetně jejího usazení do dobového literárního a literárněvědného kontextu 19. století.

Abstract:

The thesis titled "Gender and feminity in Alois Jirásek´s early works" deals with analyses and interpretations early works of Alois Jirásek in terms of gender issues. The main focus is put on the female characters and their role in society, but neither masculinity nor male characters aren´t neglected. The purpose of this research work is of gender constructs and feminity in the 19th century, and their views in the selected literature.
