The aim of this thesis is to analyse two novels by Toni Morrison, Sula and Love respectively. The thesis elaborates on the notion of sisterhood and the way the sisterly bonds of the main protagonists, Nel and Sula in Sula and Heed and Christine in Love are influenced and irreparably damaged by racist and sexist ideologies prevailing not only in the mainstream American society but also in their own …more
