Process of delivering informations to patients with maxillofacial fractures

Abstract:

Cíl: Hlavním cílem práce bylo zmapovat, jakým způsobem jsou předávány informace pacientům se zlomeninami obličejového skeletu hospitalizovaných na Klinice ústní, čelistní a obličejové chirurgie ve Fakultní nemocnici Ostrava. Dalšími dílčími cíli bylo zkoumáno subjektivní hodnocení respondentů na proces předávání informací, jaká je spokojenost respondentů s úrovní poskytovaných informací lékařem a zdravotní sestrou, zjistit formu předávání informací respondentům a jaká forma předávání informací jim vyhovuje. Zjistit, zda mají respondenti dostatečné množství informací, zda znají opatření, která mají dodržovat a jaká je jejich spokojenost s přístupem zdravotnického personálu. Metodika: Metodou průzkumu bylo dotazníkové šetření uskutečněné od začátku listopadu 2012 do konce února 2013. Do souboru bylo zařazeno 49 respondentů, z toho 30 mužů a 19 žen. Ke sběru dat byl použit nestandardizovaný dotazník sestavený pro účel šetření. Otázky byly zaměřeny na hlavní a dílčí cíle bakalářské práce. Výsledky: Respondentům se zlomeninami obličejového skeletu byly předávány informace převážně individuálním způsobem. Proces, jakým byly informace předávány, respondentům vyhovoval. Z hlediska praktického přínosu, srozumitelnosti a úplnosti informací bylo subjektivní hodnocení respondentů velmi dobré. Spokojenost s úrovní poskytovaných informací lékařem byla respondenty hodnocena jako velmi dobrá a spokojenost s úrovní poskytovaných informací zdravotní sestrou, byla respondenty hodnocena jako výborná. Forma, jakou byly předávány informace respondentům a jakou respondenti preferovali, byla ústní v kombinaci s písemnou formou. V oblasti poskytnutých informací k předoperační přípravě a pooperačnímu režimu byly jen malé nedostatky, stejně tak v oblasti poskytnutých informací k režimu při pevné mezičelistní fixaci. Respondenti převážně znali opatření, která mají dodržovat. S přístupem zdravotnického personálu byli respondenti spokojeni. Závěr: Hlavní cíl společně s dílčími cíli byl zmapován. Z výsledků šetření vyplynulo, že celkový proces předávání informací pacientům se zlomeninami obličejového skeletu, který probíhá na Klinice, ústní, čelistní a obličejové chirurgie, je respondenty hodnocen velmi příznivě.

Abstract:

Aim: The aim of the thesis was to map the way of informing the patients with fractures of the facial skeleton who are hospitalized at the Clinic of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the University Hospital in Ostrava. The following aspects were the partial aims of the thesis: Respondents? subjective evaluation of the giving information process, how the respondents are satisfied with the quality of giving information by a doctor or a nurse, to find out the form of informing the correspondents and which of the forms is satisfactory for them, to find out if the respondents are informed enough and if they know the rules that they have to follow and their satisfaction with the attitude of the medical staff. Methodology: The method of the research was the questionnaire survey which was carried out from the beginning of November 2012 to the end of February 2013. 49 respondents participated, 30 men and 19 women. A non-standardized questionnaire was used which was made for the purposes of the research. The questions were focused on the main and partial aims of the thesis. Results: The respondents with the fractures of the facial skeleton were informed mainly individually. They find the process of informing satisfactory. Their subjective evaluation of the practical contribution, comprehensibility and of the information completeness was very good. The satisfaction with the quality of informing by a doctor was evaluated by correspondents very well and the satisfaction with the quality of informing by a nurse was found excellent. The form of informing was the combination of written and spoken communication; this form was also preferred by the correspondents. The pieces of information which were given during the pre-operation preparations, during the post-operative period and during the period of the embedded intermaxillary fixation were almost complete. The correspondents mostly know the rules that they have to follow. The correspondents were satisfied with the attitude of the medical staff. Conclusion: The main and partial aims were mapped. The results of the research showed that the complete process of informing the patients with fractures of the facial skeletons at the Clinic of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the University Hospital in Ostrava is found by the correspondents very positive.
