The biodegradability of zein nanofibres

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá analýzou vlivů přídavných látek (nisin, thymol, eugenol) na biodegradabilitu nanovláken na bázi prolaminového proteinu nacházejícím se v kukuřici, kterým je zein. Biodegradace je klíčový proces pro udržení životního prostředí, protože umožňuje rozklad organických látek na jednodušší látky, které mohou být znovu využity v ekosystému. Díky biodegradaci se minimalizuje hromadění odpadů a podporuje se udržitelnost prostředí pro budoucí generace. Cílem práce bylo zhodnotit, zda tyto přídavné látky mohou zpomalit či zrychlit průběh biodegradace. Metodika zahrnovala zahájení, monitorování a samotné vyhodnocení průběhu biodegradace u 7 vzorků nanovláken a filmů. Hlavními výsledky práce je zhodnocení ovlivnění daných přídavných látek na průběh biodegradace. Závěr této práce podporuje minimální ovlivnitelnost těchto přídavných látek na biodegradabilitu nanomateriálu na bázi zeinu (Zein/PEG).

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the analysis of the effects of additives (nisin, thymol, eugenol) on the biodegradability of nanofibres based on the prolamin protein that can be found in the maize and is called a zein. Biodegradation is a key process for sustaining the environment as it allows the breakdown of organic matter into simpler substances that can be reused in the ecosystem. Biodegradation minimizes the accumulation of waste and promotes environmental sustainability for future generations. The aim of this work was to evaluate whether these additives can slow or speed up the biodegradation process. The methodology included initiation, monitoring and actual evaluation of the biodegradation process in 7 nanofiber and film samples. The main results of the work are the evaluation of the influence of the additives on the biodegradation process. The conclusion of this work supports the minimal influence of these additives on the biodegradability of the zein-based nanomaterial (Zein/PEG).
