Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce zkoumá vliv faktorů na úrovni jednotlivých zemí v Korejské republice na volbu offshoringové lokality pro korejské společnosti. Hlavním cílem je zjistit, jak tyto národní úvahy ovlivňují místo offshoringu a problémy, jimž čelí společnosti zavádějící offshoringovou strategii. Studie je rozdělena do čtyř kapitol, které poskytují komplexní analýzu offshoringu v Korejské republice. První kapitola představuje pojem offshoring a jeho různé aspekty. Druhá kapitola se zaměřuje na postavení Korejské republiky v offshoringovém sektoru. Ve třetí kapitole jsou vedeny polostrukturované rozhovory se třemi významnými korejskými společnostmi, jmenovitě KHNP, Samsung Electronics a Hyundai Mobis, s cílem získat vhled do jejich offshoringových strategií, zkušeností a výzev. V neposlední řadě jsou informace získané z rozhovorů využity k dosažení hlavního cíle práce: zavedení kvantitativní metodologie ve formě rozhodovací tabulky pro numerické vyhodnocení offshoringových metrik a určení nejvhodnější offshoringové lokality pro jihokorejské společnosti. Zjištění odhalují, že úspora nákladů, expanze trhu, kvalifikovaná pracovní síla, infrastruktura, daňové pobídky a právní regulace patří mezi klíčové faktory, které korejské společnosti zvažují při výběru offshoringové lokality. Tato studie přispívá k pochopení offshoringových strategií, poskytuje vhled do efektivních postupů pro korejské společnosti hledající offshore a výstup může také sloužit jako metodika výběru offshoringové lokality pro jihokorejské společnosti.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis investigates the impact of country-level factors in the Republic of Korea on the choice of offshoring location for Korean companies. The main objective is to find how these national considerations affect the site of offshoring and the challenges faced by corporates implementing an offshoring strategy. The study is divided into four chapters, providing a comprehensive analysis of offshoring in the Republic of Korea. The first chapter introduces the concept of offshoring and its various aspects. The second chapter focuses on the position of the Republic of Korea in the offshoring sector. In the third chapter, semi-structured interviews are conducted with three major Korean companies, namely KHNP, Samsung Electronics, and Hyundai Mobis, to gain insights into their offshoring strategies, experiences, and challenges. Lastly, the information gathered from the interviews is used to achieve the main goal of the thesis: to introduce a quantitative methodology in the form of a decision table to numerically evaluate offshoring metrics and determine the most suitable offshoring location for South Korean companies. The findings reveal that cost-saving, market expansion, skilled labor, infrastructure, tax incentives, and legal regulations are among the key factors considered by Korean companies when choosing an offshoring location. This study contributes to the understanding of offshoring strategies, provides insights into effective practices for Korean companies looking to offshore and the output can also serve as a methodology of choosing an offshoring location for South Korean companies.
