The population in developed European countries is ageing. The improving of living conditions and the medical care as well as the birth-rate decline contribute to this process. Populace ve vyspělých zemích Evropy stárne. K tomuto procesu přispívají jak zlepšující se životní podmínky a zdravotní péče, tak pokles porodnosti. Model, kdy na jednu osobu v důchodovém věku připadají 4 osoby v produktivním věku, přestává platit.
