The history of the trivial school in Vracov from the mid-nineteenth century to the First World War

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje škole, která byla založena ve Vracově po velkém požáru Vracova v roce 1853. K zachycení jejího vývoje byly využity informace čerpané ze školní kroniky, z kroniky obce a jiných listin, které se školou přímo souvisely. Zkoumané období ohraničují dvě události, jedna lokální a druhá globální. První událostí byl již zmíněný požár, druhou událostí je konec první světové války. Mimo hlavní téma vývoje školy a výuky se práce zaměřuje i na se školou úzce související životní úroveň učitele z Vracova a jeho společenské postavení, na vztah dítěte a jeho rodičů ke škole a na změny těchto vztahů způsobené světovými událostmi. Celá práce se zaměřuje přímo na školu ve Vracově a veškeré úvahy platí pouze pro jmenovanou školu, nikoli obecně. Práce začíná informacemi o Vracovu, ve kterém škola sídlila a závěrem je kapitola obsahující zajímavosti, které jsme při studiu pramenů objevili.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the school established in Vracov after the great fire of the town in 1853. The information obtained from the school and town chronicles, as well as from other documents directly related to the school, was employed in order to record the development of this institution. The period in examination is limited by two events, one local and one global. The first event was the previously mentioned fire of the town, while the other one was the ending of the World War I. Apart from the main topic of the school development and teaching, this work also focuses on the social position of the teacher in Vracov, a topic closely related to the school per se, as well as on the relationship between the children, their parents and the school and on the changes in this relationship caused by the events of the world. The thesis as a whole focuses directly on the school in Vracov and the contemplations apply only for this one institution, not in general. The first part of the thesis deals with the information about the town of Vracov, the residence of the school in investigation. The final part is constituted by a chapter that includes facts of interest which were found during the research of the source material.
