Criticism of religion from the perspective of Sartre´s existentialism

Abstract:

Hlavním tématem této diplomové práce je analýza existenciálního proudu prezentovaného Jeanem Paulem Sartrem, který významně ovlivnil filozofické myšlení nejen 20., ale i počátku 21. století . Velká pozornost je pak věnována rozboru Sartrových filozofických i beletristických děl zejména v kontextu jeho kritiky náboženství.

Abstract:

The main objective of this Diploma Thesis is to analyse the existentialist stream of thought as presented by Jean Paul Sartre, which significantly influenced the philosophical thinking of not only the 20th century, but also of the beginning of the 21st century. Great attention is paid to the analysis of Sartre?s philosophical works, as well as his works of fiction, particularly in the context of his criticism of religion, as the negative attitude towards God as a principle that transcends the actual human existence put Sartre and other, predominantly French, existentialists into opposition against the representatives of the theistic branch of existentialism.
