Election process of the first psychotherapeutic training

Abstract:

The aim of the study was to find out what is the process of choosing the first psychotherapy training. In theoretical overview one can find summary of available researches in area of professional development of therapists and theoretical orientation. In research part of the study I map the process of choosing the first psychotherapy training. For goal fulfillment I chose qualitative design. The sample of respondents is made of trainees from three Czech psychotherapy trainings: SUR, training in systemic and in gestalt psychotherapy. Data analysis was made using grounding theory method. The result of the analysis is suggested central category process choice. Central category is described by categories: obtaining information, consideration, decision and choice of training, testing of the decision, and confirmation of the choice. Results are discussed with process model of gaining certainty to choose first training (Plchová, et al., in press).

Abstract:

Cieľom predkladanej práce bolo zistiť ako prebieha voľba prvého psychoterapeutického výcviku. V teoretickom prehľade možno nájsť zhrnutie dostupných výskumov v oblasti profesionálneho rozvoja a voľby teoretickej orientácie psychoterapeutov. Vo výskumnej časti práce mapujem proces voľby prvého výcviku. K naplneniu cieľa som si zvolila kvalitatívny prístup. Vzorku respondentov tvoria frekventanti troch českých psychoterapeutických výcvikov: SUR, výcviku v systemickej a v gestalt psychoterapii. Analýza dát bola prevádzaná metódou zakotvenej teórie. Výsledkom analýzy je navrhnutá centrálna kategória proces voľby. Centrálnu kategóriu popisujú kategórie: získavanie informácií, zvažovanie, rozhodnutie a voľba výcviku, testovanie rozhodnutia a potvrdenie voľby. Výsledky sú diskutované s procesným modelom získavania istoty pri voľbe prvého výcviku (Plchová, et al., in press).
