Income inequality between men and women in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou příjmové nerovnosti mužů a žen v České republice. Přičemž výzkum práce je zaměřen na zdravotní sestry. Cílem práce je identifikovat vliv faktorů, které podporují příjmovou nerovnost ve vztahu na rozhodnutí mužů a žen o své kariéře. V rámci tohoto cíle je v práci popsáno rozhodování žen a mužů o kariéře a příčiny a důsledky příjmové nerovnosti. Pro ověření výzkumné otázky byla ve výzkumu použita kvalitativní metoda. Sběr dat byl proveden formou individuálních polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s šesti respondenty. V práci jsou také uvedeny doporučení a návrhy, jak vzhledem k rozhodování žen a mužů o své kariéře by šlo zmenšit příjmovou nerovnost mezi nimi.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of income inequality between men and women in the Czech Republic. While research work is focused on nurses. The goal of the thesis is to identify the influence of factors that support income inequality in relation to men's and women's career decisions. As part of this goal, the thesis describes women's and men's career decisions and the causes and consequences of income inequality. A qualitative method was used in the research to verify the research question. Data collection was carried out in the form of individual semi-structured interviews with six respondents. The work also contains recommendations and suggestions as to how the income inequality between men and women could be reduced in terms of their career decisions.
