Evaluation of the reproduction and growth rate of the Beef Simmental

Abstract:

V této bakalářské práci jsou shrnuty poznatky týkající se reprodukce, růstu a odchovu skotu v systému bez tržní produkce mléka. Současně jsou popsány vlivy působící na plodnost a růstovou schopnost včetně metod, kterými lze růst hodnotit. Je věnována pozornost také novým technologiím chovu, které reprodukci a růst masných plemen ovlivňují. Mezi nejúspěšnější masná plemena se v současnosti řadí masný simentál. V práci je popsán počátek chovu tohoto plemene v České republice s jeho současnou charakteristikou a chovným cílem. Se zaměřením na plemeno masný simentál jsou řešeny otázky úspěšnosti reprodukce a růstu v konkrétním podniku. Ke zhodnocení byly využity reprodukční ukazatele mezidobí a věk při prvním otelení konfrontované s celostátními průměry. Chovatel se dlouhodobě pohybuje v porovnání s celostátním průměrem u uvedených dvou ukazatelů v nižších hodnotách, což vede k vyšší ekonomické rentabilitě chovu. Výsledky současně dokazují, že byl naplněn chovný cíl šlechtitelského programu plemene masný simentál. K hodnocení růstu byly použity průměrné hmotnosti ve 120, 210 a 365 dnech u jalovic a průměrné hmotnosti ve 120 a 210 dnech u býků. Bylo zjištěno, že růstová schopnost potomků, vykazuje rostoucí trend ve vazbě na odchov čistokrevných zvířat.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis summarizes the knowledge on reproduction, growth and rearing of cattle in a system of non-market milk production. It also describes the influences on fertility and growth performance, including methods by which growth can be assessed. Attention is also given to new breeding technologies that affect reproduction and growth in beef breeds. One of the most successful meat breeds today is the Beef Simmental. The beginning of the breeding of this breed in the Czech Republic is described with its current characteristics and breeding objectives. With a focus on the Beef Simmental, the questions of reproductive success are addressed and growth in a particular farm. Reproductive indices of the inter-period and age at first calving were used for the evaluation, confronted with national averages. In the long term, the breeder has lower values for these two indicators compared to the national average, which leads to a higher economic profitability of the breeding. At the same time, the results show that the breeding objective of the breeding programme of the Beef Simmental has been fulfilled. The average weights at 120, 210 and 365 days for heifers and the average weights at 120 and 210 days for bulls were used to assess growth. It was found that the growth ability of the progeny, showed an increasing trend in relation to the purebred animals.
