Abstract:

Disertace srovnává různé typy kronik doby tzv. zobecněného humanismu. Nejdříve zasazuje kroniky a kronikáře do širokého filozofického, historického, náboženského, uměleckého a literárního kontextu. Již tato první část ukazuje, že díla vznikala v době tzv. předkritického myšlení, zkoumaní autoři nebyli nikterak radikální, a tudíž jejich dílo bylo vykládáno schematicky a tendenčně. V práci dále srovnávám životní osudy a porovnávám celoživotní dílo jednotlivých autorů. Z genologického hlediska rozlišuji mezi historií, kronikou, anály a dalšími žánry humanistické historiografie, i když se práce většinou nazývají kronikami. Jádro práce spočívá v důkladné analýze Kroniky české Václava Hájka z Libočan, která se nám jeví spíše jako "historický román", než jako Palackého nepřítel "dějinné pravdy", Kroniky o založení země České Martina Kuthena ze Šprinsberka, jenž je spíše neutrálním analistickým záznamem než kronikou obhajující utrakvistické pozice, Kroniky české Bohuslava Bílejovského, která je tendenčním spiskem obhajující kontinuální přijímání pod obojí, Dějin Království českého Jana Dubravia, jež jsou historií v pravém slova smyslu a konečně Akt aneb Knih památných Sixta z Ottersdorfu, které jsou jedinečným diplomatářem a místy i individuální vzpomínkou na politické děje z poloviny 16. století.

Abstract:

The dissertation compares the different types of chronicle from the period of general humanism. First it locates the chronicles and chroniclers in the wider philosophical, historical, religious, artistic and literary context. This first part shows that the works were created at a time predating true critical thinking. The authors under review were in no way radical, but their work has been interpreted in a schematic and tendentious way. I also compare the life stories and backgrounds of the individual authors. From a genealogical perspective I distinguish between history, chronicle, annals and other genres of humanist historiography, even though the works are usually termed chronicles. The core of the dissertation consists of a thorough analysis of various works, including the 'Czech Chronicle' of Vaclav Hajek of Libocany, which seems to us more like a historical novel than Palacky's " enemy of historical truth " ; the 'Chronicle of the foundation of the Bohemian state' by Martin Kuthen of Sprinsberk, which is a more neutral chronological account than the 'Czech Chronicle' of Bohuslav Bilejovsky, which champions the Ultraquist position and is a polemical pamphlet advocating the adoption of communion in both kinds. Finally there are the 'History of the Czech kingdom' by John Dubravius, which is history in the strict sense, and the 'Events and Remembrances' of Sixtus of Ottersdorf, which contains unique diplomatic and in some cases individual records of political activities in the mid-16th century.
