Effects of pesticides on ecosystems and non - target organisms

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se věnuje přípravkům využívaných v zemědělství, jejich klasifikaci a stručné historii jejich používání. Shrnuje nebezpečí reziduí pesticidů v životním prostředí a jejich hrozbu pro půdní a vodní ekosystémy. Zaměřuje se na nepříznivé účinky na necílové organismy nacházející se v místech i mimo místa aplikace pesticidů. Zmiňuje problematiku bioakumulace a biomagnifikace v živých organismech. V praktické části jsou sledovány účinky insekticidního přípravku MAGMA (účinná látka etofenprox) na larvách vážek (Anax imperator, Odonata) odlovených v oblasti Boroveckých rybníků u Příboru. Pro vyhodnocení akutní toxicity byly pozorovány změny v jejich chování, vypočítány hodnoty toxikologických indexů a vykresleny křivky mortality. Tento pyrethroidní insekticid vykazoval extrémní toxicitu.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on agents used in agriculture, their classification and a brief history of their use. It summarizes the problems of pesticide residues in the environment and their threat to soil and aquatic ecosystems. There are described negative effects on non-target organisms both on and off the areas where pesticides are applied. It mentions the problems of bioaccumulation and biomagnification in living organisms. In the practical part are evaluated the effects of the insecticide MAGMA (active substance etofenprox) on Odonata larvae Anax imperator caught in the area of Borovecké rybníky near Příbor. To estimate the acute toxicity, changes in their behaviour were observed, toxicological indices values were calculated and mortality curves were plotted. This pyrethroid insecticide was extremely toxic.
