Changes in Jewish themes in Czech literature and its didactic aspects

Abstract:

Práce je založena na recepční estetice kostnické školy (čtenář jako výzva), jejíž principy jsou v hodinách české literatury momentálně často využívány. Studenti (spoluautoři textů) i učitelé (facilitátoři) se v procesu učení potýkají s novým úkolem, a to přijímat a interpretovat složité autorské tokeny pomocí interpretačního dialogu, nikoliv přijetím "zakotvené" pravdy. Hlavním cílem práce je proto představit vývoj a podoby židovské tematiky v české literatuře a rovněž nastínit její možné didaktické využití, neboť se jedná o tematiku na školní půdě rozebírnou objevující se často i u maturitní zkoušky. Tematika byla rozdělena do několika podoblastí vhodných pro školní praxi: českožidovské hnutí, Praha, judaismus, ahasverismus, židovský humor, terezínská kultura a Plzeňsko. Skrze životní osudy klíčových umělců a prostřednictvím analýzy vybraných děl byly dané pod-tematiky blíže charakterizovány a kontextuálně zasazeny. Byly rovněž navrženy výukové metody vhodné pro práci s podoblastmi. Vzhledem k tomu, že jedním z cílů práce bylo představit důležité historicko-kulturní pozadí vztahující se k textům se židovskou tematikou, tvoří nezbytnou část práce také podrobné shrnutí židovských dějin, základních židovských textů, židovských jazyků, židovských tradic, českožidovské historie a vývoje židovské tématiky v literatuře obecně.

Abstract:

The thesis is based on Reader- Response Criticism as its principles are lately used in the Czech literature classes. The students (co-creators of the texts) as well as the teachers (facilitators) deal with a new task in the learning process; to accept complex author's tokens and interpret them by using interpretative dialog rather than by accepting the given truth.Therefore the main goal of the thesis is to introduce the development of Jewish theme in the Czech literature and to provide possible didactic use of its various forms. Through the analysis of the primary and the secondary literature dealing with the issue, the concept of Jewish theme was specified and divided into several thematic sub-areas suitable for school practice: Czech-Jewish Movement, Prague, Judaism, Ahasverism, Jewish humor, the Terezín´s culture and Pilsen reagion. The selected topics were closely characterized and both authors and specific texts were included and commented properly. The teaching methods appropriate for working with the sub-areas were them proposed. Since one of the objectives of the work is to present the important historical-cultural background on which the texts originated, the essential part of the thesis is dedicated to the detailed summary of the Jewish history, basic Jewish texts, Jewish languages, Jewish traditions, the Czech-Jewish history and the evolution of the Jewish theme in the literature in general.
