The weak stateness in context of Balkan - comparison of Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Corruption and organized crime as an aspect of weak stateness.

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce zkoumá organizovaný zločin a korupci jako jeden z aspektů slabé a rozpadlé státnosti. Předně je představena teorie slabých a rozpadlých států a teorie významných badatelů v tomto oboru. Dále jsou představeny studie teoreticko-empirické studie zabývající se organizovaným zločinem a korupcí ve slabých a rozpadlých státech. Práce si klade za cíl ověřit hypotézu, že míra organizovaného zločinu a korupce klesá od ukončení ozbrojeného konfliktu v roce 1995 v BaH, respektive od roku 1999 v Kosovu. V závěru dochází autor k velice neobvyklému poznatku. Autor si na základě strategie Evropské komise stanovuje čtyři komparační kritéria - nelegální prodej narkotik, nelegální prodej zbraní, obchod s bílým masem a korupce. Jednotlivá kritéria jsou zkoumána na základě dostupných empirických dat.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is researching organized crime and corruption as one of aspect weak and collapsed stateness. At the begining, there is a theory of weak and collapsed states. There are the summary of esays of the most important researchers in weak statenes and organized crime and corruption in weak and collapsed states. There is a hypothesis, that organized crime and corruption have been decreasing since armed conflict in 1995 in BiH - and in Kosovo since 1999. The criteria for the comparation are choosing according to strategy of European Commission. There are following: illegal drugs trafficking, illegal trafficking of persons, illegal arms trafficking and corruption. For the comparation the study is useing the empiric data.
