Leisure Time Activities of a Schoolage Children

Abstract:

Způsob, jakým dospívající děti tráví svůj volný čas, je významným kritériem charakterizujícím jejich životní styl a také životní styl celé rodiny. Cílem této bakalářská práce bylo zjistit a následně analyzovat pravidelně prováděné volnočasové aktivity dětí staršího školního věku navštěvujících základní školu Englišova v Opavě. Záměrem bylo zjistit a porovnat skladbu volnočasových aktivit u vybraných skupin žáků 8. a 9. ročníků sportovních a paralelně standardních ? nesportovních tříd. Pro tyto účely jsem zvolila sociologický standardizovaný dotazník COMPASS II (Rychtecký 2006). Analýza náplně volného času rozkryla v souborech sportovních a standardních tříd bez ohledu na pohlaví žáků strukturu pravidelně prováděných aktivit, které ve svém souhrnu přispívají k rozvoji pevného zdraví, pomáhají vytvářet a upevňovat pozitivní sociální vztahy a rozvíjejí osobnosti žáků. Ke statistickému zpracování dat jsem použila základní popisné charakteristiky - aritmetický průměr, medián a směrodatnou odchylku. Pro určení věcné významnosti rozdílů průměrů nezávisle proměnných byl proveden výpočet Cohenova koeficientu d. Studie je omezena pouze na daný vzorek a nelze ji zobecňovat.

Abstract:

The way the teenagers spend their free time is an important factor characterizing their lifestyle and the lifestyle of the whole family. The aim of this bachelor thesis was to identify and consequently analyze the regularly practiced leisure time activities of children of higher school age who attend the primary school Englišova in Opava. The aim was to determine and compare the composition of leisure time activities in selected groups of pupils of the 8th and 9th grades attending sports and collaterally non-sports classes. For these purposes I chose sociological standardized questionnaire COMPASS II (Rychtecký 2006). The analysis of the content of the leisure time activities uncovered in the files of sports and standard classes, regardless of the gender of pupils, the structure of regularly practiced activities, which in total contribute to the development of perfect health, help to create and reinforce positive social relationships and develop students' personalities. I used basic descriptive characteristics for the statistical data processing ? arithmetic mean, median and standard deviation. To determine the substantive significance of differences of means of independent variables the calculation of the Cohen coefficient d was made. The study is limited only to the given sample and cannot be generalized.
