Recycling Possibilities of Paper-based Barrier Flexible Packaging

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je zjistit možnosti recyklace potravinářských bariérových obalů, resp. papírových kompozitů. Dále práce nabízí stručný přehled legislativy a způsobu výroby obalů, které vymezují specifické užitné vlastnosti produktu zušlechtěného materiálem na bázi polymerů. Tato práce řeší dvě otázky týkající se recyklace obalů: a) Jak účinně separovat sekundární vlákna od nevlákenných složek v laboratorním a poloprovozním měřítku? b) Jaké budou výtěžky sekundárních vláken? S ohledem na skutečnost, že tento druh obalů obsahuje také nepapírové složky, zde vyvstává obava, zda výrobní faktory spotřebované na separaci těchto komponentů nepřevýší ekologický a ekonomický přínos recyklace. Kvantifikace výtěžků sekundárních vláken získaných separací na třídicích zařízeních poskytne odpovědi na dané otázky.

Abstract:

The aim of this work is to find out the possibillities of recycling food barrier packaging or rather paper composites. Furthermore, the work offers a brief overview of legislativity and production methods of packaging, which defines the specific utility properties of the product treated with polymer-based materiál. This work addresses two issues related to packaging recycling: a) How to effectively separate secondary fibers from non-fiber components in a laboratory and pilot-production scale? b) How will be the secondary pulp yields? Given the fact that this type of packaging also contains non-paper components, there is concern that the production factors used to separate these components will not outweigh the enviromental and economic benefits of recycling. Quantification of the secondary fibers yields obtained by using frakcionation equipment will provide answers to the given questions.
