Human Body in Phraseology - German Phraseology in Comparison with Norwegian Phraseology

Abstract:

The graduation thesis "Human Body in Phraseology - German Phraseology as Compared to Norwegian Phraseology" focuses on German and Norwegian idioms and phrases using lexemes from the area of human body. The phrases and idioms are compared according to their measure of equivalence (Barbara Wotjak's method). Is there a Czech equivalent to a Norwegian or German idiom, it is also mentioned in the text. The thesis is divided into two parts - a theoretical and a practical one. In the first part the concepts of phraseology, phrases and idioms and their characteristic are explained. The first part also deals with the relation between German and Norwegian, the development of the two language forms of Norwegian and the influence of German on the Norwegian vocabulary. In the second part German and Norwegian phrases and idioms are divided in five thematic groups: head and its parts, body, limbs, viscuses and body fluids. Information on the usage and stylistical connotations of individual phrases and idioms is provided, as well as the measure of their equivalence in German and Norwegian.

Abstract:

Práce „Menschlicher Körper in der Phraseologie...“ se zaměřuje na německé a norské frazeologismy, v nichž se vyskytují lexémy z oblasti lidského těla. Tyto frazeologismy a idiomy jsou zde srovnávány podle míry ekvivalence (dle metody Barbary Wotjak). Existuje-li k německému či norskému idiomu český ekvivalent, rovněž ho uvádím. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části. První část vysvětluje pojmy - frazeologie, frazeologismy a idiomy. Uvádím vlastnosti frazeologismů a idiomů a jejich klasifikaci. Zabývám se vztahem mezi němčinou a norštinou, vývojem dvou jazykových forem norštiny a vlivem němčiny na vývoj norské slovní zásoby. Druhá část, praktická část, je rozdělena na pět tématických skupin: hlava a její části, tělo a jeho části, končetiny, vnitřní orgány a tělní tekutiny. U jednotlivých frazeologismů je uvedeno v jakém smyslu se používají, jejich stylistické zabarvení a do jaké míry jsou v německém a norském jazyce ekvivalentní.
