Axial and systemic cause of refractive error

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the axial and systemic cause of refractive error. In the introductory part, refraction of the eye and its development are clarified. The next chapter is focused on refractive errors, their types, cause and correction options. The aim of the following practical part is to determine the axial length of the eye and the radius of the cornea curvature and compare their impact on the degree of ametropia. The central corneal thickness and its dependence on the refractive error value is also investigated. The processed results are compared with foreign studies dealing with similar issues.

Abstract:

Táto diplomová práca sa zaoberá axiálnou a systémovou príčinou refrakčnej vady. V úvodnej časti je objasnená refrakcia oka a jej vývoj. Ďalšia kapitola je zameraná na refrakčné vady, ich rozdelenie, príčinu a možnosti korekcie. Nasleduje praktická časť práce, ktorej cieľom je zistiť axiálnu dĺžku oka a polomer krivosti rohovky a porovnať ich dopad na hodnotu refrakčnej vady oka. Skúmané sú aj hodnoty centrálnej hrúbky rohovky a ich závislosť na veľkosti refrakčnej vady. Spracované výsledky sú porovnané so zahraničnými štúdiami zaoberajúcimi sa podobnou problematikou.
